What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NY

I learned from a relative of mine, that during a small claims hearing that they were involved with (and in which I was not a party) - the other party made a slanderous statement about me. It was not said in response to any matter or question in the case - they were just venting anger.

As they were the other party involved, I imagine that they were sworn in at the time. Do I have the right to pursue action against them?

Of course you have the right... after all, anyone can sue almost anyone over almost anything.

However, you have NO case against them.
Just curious.... if you did have a case, what EXACTLY are your damages and how did you determine them??
What EXACTLY was said and in what context??
