What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

I purchased the assets of a small business (vehicles) and now a customer of the old business wants my company to repair an item that I did not sell to them. Am I responsible for this? Thanks

Since you were smart and purchased the assets of the old business and not the business itself, you are not liable for the debts or liabilities of the old company. Ask the previous owner to provide you with a postal address that people can forward complaint/claims to. If he will not provide one, then feel free to pass on the previous owner's name and let them find him.
