What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? PAundefined My mother (age 71) lives in Montgomery County PA and owns her home. She has a will leaving the home to the names of her 3 adult children upon her death. Her health is failing and in the future may need nursing home facilities to some extent. She has medicare and Medical assistance and my question is ....Is there anyway to protect her home in the event she has to go to a nursing home? She has worked too hard as a single parent to loose her investment. She does not have to worry about transferring to children before her death. There would never be a problem with life time rights for her to live there. How can we protect her?

Can the 3 of you and your mom talk to a elder law specialist in your area to learn if you can just buy her home from her in order to give her the funding that she would need to help pay for her to live in her own home for as long as possible . Try the links up top to locate a Atty who specializes in elder law and learn what all your options may be . Some sort of reverse mortgage might even work to pay for her to have either live in care or home care of some sort. BUT a atty is the best bet for learning what your options are.
