What is the name of your state?Florida My mother left me some property in Florida ( along with my brother and sister). They did not keep up with their taxes on their property and it was sold for taxes. I can't get anyone (including an attorney that I have communicated with) to tell me the laws regarding this. Were they supposed to send a certified mail before the sale? What is the time frame for filing to receive any overage after the sale? How delinquent do you have to be on taxes before they can sell the property?

Call the person who sold the property (probably the county treasurer or collector taxes or some such office) who is located in the county courthouse of the county where the land is.

Ask your questions PLUS, "How long do I have to redeem this?"

You may still be able to pay all the back taxes, etc. and, in effect, "cancel" the sale.

Also, you need to seriously think about a partition lawsuit to sell this land and split the proceeds amongs y'all.
