What is the name of your state?Recently divorced. X Husband totally demolished the house. I had no choice but to have him quit claim the property to me so that I could start cleaning it up.

Anyways X quit claimed the propert to me. I went to court and the judge said that X no longer has any interests in the real property at said address (This was an agreed entry). In return the contempt charges were dropped.

Do I have to refinance the mortgage or can I keep it as is? There was no order placed that I would need to refinance.

it's your home, you can burn it to the ground, sell it, rent it or open a bawdy house if you like.

**A: if the mortgage is in X name, you need to refinance.
