Hi, I am wanting to create my own website where people can download ringtones (alternate music not usually available) in mp3 format, for their mobile phones. I plan to use the orginal artists track and cut about a 30 second segment from it to make it available to purchase and download. How do I obtain copyright permission from the bands for the music that I want to use? I have tried writing to them but no response. Do I have to have their permission to do this? I have no idea how to obtain it when they don't reply to any emails. I have written to their publishers as well. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
