I am starting up a professional organizing business in PA, and another organizer and I are talking about a joint venture (partnering up to serve one specific target audience). I have registered an LLC and a ficticious name (dba), and the other organizer has an established business name. Can we use my dba name and just make it a LLP or an Inc? Or do we have to register a completely new business name? I'd like to keep this as simple as possible.

Another question: If we registered our business name in PA but work for clients in NJ or DE, do we then have to register the name in those states as well?
