The state is South Carolina
This situation is, we were served papers stating we have until 9/27/05 to pay $6,070.47 no later than 2:00 P.M. September 27, 2005. We do not have the money to pay that large amount. Are there any other alternatives other than Bankruptcy?

There are only three ways to stop a foreclosure:

Pay off the loan

File bankruptcy

File a lawsuit and get a court order stopping the foreclosure (and you'd better have some excellent reason to tell the judge why that needs to be done).

Considering what you owe, the cheapest route is to pay your bill.

How far behind are you? Can you refi or is the credit shot to heck? And in the end can you really afford the house or not?

**A: 2 other options to stop foreclosure: deed in lieu or sell the property.
