We purchased a used vehicle with a dealer 30 day and also maufacturer extended warrany. 32 days from purchase the engine died leaving us in the middle of nowhere. It took 3 weeks to determine who would pay for the new engine. The fault was a recalled and replaced head gasket. The manufacturer warrany on the part had expired., the shop that did the work had a very minimal warranty on the work, thus also expired. The extended warrany has covered the engine replacement, but we are still left with the $200 tow, and rental car expenses and extreme frustration. No one is answering our calls from the dealership. (This dealership made all kinds of claims that they stand behind their cars.) We have not even paid off the down payment and we have $1700 in breakdown bills on the vehicle! Is this bad business or are we just another victim of a used car nightmare?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Unfortunately, sounds like you got a bad deal. But if they gave you a warranty, they are not responsible.

You mentioned gasket -- recalled?

Explain that situation a little more clearly. You might have something here.
