Back in July, we signed a contract agreement (only one of us signed) for a building restoration company to replace our roof and siding due to storm damage. We have since changed our minds for a number of reasons: poor quality of work seen on our neighbors homes, not receiving answers to our questions, not receiving quote on additional work to be done and when we finally got it, (the amount was much more than what a neighbor paid for the same work), materials used by the company and said to be great are in fact inferior, we have also heard other unsavory details in regard to this company. The contract agreement lists NO dollars for what the job would cost, but in the bottom says that we would be required to pay them 25% of the job should we not use them. Can we get out of this? No work has been started and nothing has been ordered.

Of course, no one can answer without having an opportunity to review the actual contract.
Take it to a local attorney for his/her review and suggestions.
