What is the name of your state? Alabama. We did work for a consumer. It had to do with construction and part of it was due to storm damage. We first presented a proposal for the work to be done and the amount it would cost. We were given permission to do the job. We finished the job and collected the money. An invoice was issued for the exact same amount. We were given a check from the insurance company and the rest was paid by the individual for additional work added (not storm related and therefore not included in the insurance check). About a month later the customer called and said we overcharged her and the job was not finished. She has reported us to the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's office. We have replied to each complaint and in good faith offered to work things out but stated that we did not owe any money back. She claims we have minor things to do still. The proposal and the invoice were the exact amounts. Now she is taking us to small claims court for the amount of money she said we overcharged her (which is over $1,000) and for the job to be finished. We never collect any money until the job is finished and the customer is satisfied, We don't collect any money up front. Does this customer have a good chance of winning and how do judges see this? Please help!
