I had an account with Bank of America, through an Idaho branch. I used Bill Payer Online. I set the system to pay a bill on a date in May. The transaction did not take place until more than a week late. I, therefore, incurred finance charges of almost $300 by the receiving merchant (it was a 1-year same as cash account). I received assurances from Bank of America (both verbal and written) that they would have the charges taken care of. Months later, I have now received a notificatoin that Bank of America will not pay these charges. I paid the amount with the merchant in order to retain my credit rating and to avoid paying any further finance charges. Do I have any recourse with Bank of America? (The merchant, Associates, has refused to reverse charges understandably).
