What is the name of your state? Currently Washington, Was Maryland, Mover located in Ohio.

We signed a contract with a moving company (located in Ohio, quoted us via internet) to move our household goods from Maryland to Washington State - they were to pick up Aug. 17th or 18th, but caused us much grief by not showing up until 4 days later (the manager informed us he didn't have to give us a damn time). They told us it would take 6 to 7 days to deliver to Washington. That was 5 weeks ago. We have to initiate all the phone calls, the only one they initiated was to ask for more money when the bill of lading showed we had more than the 15,000 lbs quoted. They sent someone to "inventory" our stuff which was basically an inexperienced day laborer writing down what we had - they never placed a sticker on anything. They told us our stuff would be delivered 2.5 weeks ago - that didn't happen. We have told them that we want our stuff no later than Oct. 1st when we move into our new house - they are still trying to see if they can get us some dates - apparently they have "fallen behind in scheduling". They also informed us that our stuff is "stored safely in our warehouse". They assured us our things would not be moved off of the trailer. At this point, we want to contact the local police department in Ohio and report our stuff as being stolen. We are not sure what we can legally do right now and what action we can take if/when our stuff has arrived. Apparently the Carmack law protects them. We insured our items additionally through them for damage. We just want our things back. This has been a nightmare, we're frustrated and angry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
