My questions concern Californian Law. I'd be very grateful for any assistance anyone can give. Say a celebrity has discovered a libellous story about him will appear in a newspaper the next morning. What steps are involved in obtaining a court order to prevent publication? Is a deposition involved, and how is that obtained? Until what time in the evening can he obtain the court order? If publication is not the next day but in a few months' time how does that alter the procedure? What part would a deposition play then? Would the plaintiff then need to give evidence in person? Also, what steps are involved in obtaining a court order against a stalker, both where the situation is urgent and where it is not so urgent? What part would a deposition play then?

Many thanks,
