What is the name of your state? Mississippi

I had planned to sue a former taxi lessor for never returning my security deposit, but I recently heard he sold his business. Could I still have a claim against him personally or would it now fall on the new owners or since the sale am I just out of luck?

Was the company a sole proprietorship or a corporation or a partnership, etc.??
Sue both the FORMER owner and the new owner (in their CORRECT form). Let the court figure out which, if either, is liable.
