What is the name of your state? Michigan

If a consent judgement is in place, for money to be paid monthly to repay a debt, how late can a payment be, before a garnishment can be executed?

For instance if a check arrives on the 27th, and it was due on the 15th, can a garnishment occur in that short of a time frame?

Thank you.

A: That would depend on your written agreement with the judgment creditor. If there is no written agreement, then the judgment creditor can garnish as soon as the state's laws allow him to.

What you are asking, however, should be contained in the judgment you agreed to. I realize, obviously, that most judgments are poorly written and it may not cover this situation.

Anyway, the link is a start for your research.
