I have a small business that is run out of a basement apartment. I want to get cable internet and phone service but the local cable company only allows one account per household. The homeowners have agreed to let me subscribe for the services that I want through their account and pay them my share. I would like to be able to write off the internet and phone service as a business expense but don't know how to legally prove that's what I'm paying for because the bill will be in the homeowners name. Will a written agreement between myself and the homeowner be enough to satisfy any IRS audits?
