daughter's accident

Here's the situation: daughter just got married, moved to montana. She got in an accident (her fault). She was uninsured. Her car was in her name only. Now, they need a car. He may buy one from his brother( is borrowing it now), in his name only. Can any car they get now be taken in a judgement? He works now, makes very little. She needs to work but will need a vehicle to do so. Thanks
