What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NY
My daughter lives in Queens while attending school (her inurance is from upstate, if that matters)...She was hit September 22nd by a driver trying to make a U turn in the middle of the road. There were no bodily injuries, although her car was damaged. A police report was filed. The other driver did not want to exchange insurance information but did give the police an insurance policy number... My daughter was only able to get the man's name from him and not much more...When she received the police report with his policy number she called his company to place a claim against him...they were to respond within 48 hrs. and never did...She called them back to find out what was going on with the claim. She was told the claim was cancelled. The other driver had cancelled insurance with the company in JULY. What is her next move now that he has no insurance..does she have any recourse to get her car fixed???? Also, isn't it illegal to present an insurance policy to a police officer that is no longer active?
