What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? New York

I don't want to go back because the pay is way below my normal range of salary.I collect unemployment benefits and would like to find out if there's a chance I could lose my benefits because I won't go back because of 'salary'
being too low.
Thank You.

If you turn down available work, you are almost certain to lose your unemployment.

I have no legal background but i'm just wondering:

If one were to not return the phone call and say they never got it, wouldn't it make it rather hard for the EDD to prove she knew the job existed?

Where do they draw the line at cutting off somebodys life support becuase they think the person might have turned down a job..

If she has opened no dialogue with the company she would probably be safe, right? Furthermore, how would the EDD find out if she turned down the work in the first place?

Well I guess we know where you stand with a lack of ethics, morals and certainly NO INTEGRITY!

So, you think it's okay to lie and cheat in order to get benefits you're not entitled to, huh?

Unemployment is there for those who are unemployed through no fault of their own. If an employee turns down work, their unemployment is now their own fault and they are no longer entitled to benefits.

I'm glad that both of you like to state unbiased information, really. A person is immoral if they have ALL of the facts, and not just the pre-packaged ones that force them to make a right decision.

Nobody ever told her to do either thing, you presented options, I presented options. I'm glad you can take a draw off of my personal character and my integrity because I said "Hey, this might be an option if you are in a bad place".

However, I can see how somebody could be wrong for wanting to know how the whole process works, my statement was more of a question directed towards those who could answer it.

I'm sure you people pride yourself at being the "experts" on this subject, but its quite obvious you are just trolls.

Furthermore, you say that unemployment is for the unemployed: Obviously she cannot find a job within the range she was working before and CANNOT find a job.

Just becuase she turns down a job now doesnt mean that shes necessarily meaning to defraud the E.D.D., however, how can she LOOK for the job that fits her specific needs if she is tied up at a dead end job?

I guess, however, if you were some forum troll specialist making 150K a year and suddenly your job closed, you would feel obligated to immediately take a retail position at nordstroms for 25K becuase they offered it.

Right.

I'd rather take a job with lower pay than I was making before, than lie about it and be granted benefits I'm not entitled to, I can tell you that much.

The fact that you would even make the suggestion DOES say a lot about your integrity, or lack thereof.

Right.
You can edit this post all you want but if you do not refrain from posting advice to others on how to break the law and continue advocating actions which can result in criminal and civil penalties, you will find your time on this forum SEVERELY limited.
