What is the name of your state? Texas

My mother had suregery about 3 months ago, where she is now required to use an oxygen tank at all times. She returned to work and has been working for about 2 1/2 months with the same employer (a hospital).
She was fired; her employer stated that she is considered a "hazard to the hospital".

Is the reason for ther termination legal?
They knew she was going to have the surgery and it's after affects, shouldn't they have considered that before she had the surgery or before she returned to work?

Are the other people in the hospital on oxygen a hazard to its safety?

Anyway, if she is an at-will employee, she can be fired for no or any reason.
