I currently work in Georgia for a company that was recently acquired. The acquiring company required the signing a non-compete contract. The workplace conditions have quickly gone south, forcing me to consider moving to another company. Can this non-compete keep me from exploring new employment? If I do go to a competitor, my only option, can I be held liable in any way?

You will need to have the agreement reviewed in its entirety by an attorney. State laws and cases are very state-specific on this issue.
