Employment Contract

What is the name of your state? Florida

I was recently offered a postion with a company to work as an Independent Contractor and have recieved an employment contract from the employer, but no one from the company signed the contract, expecting me to sing it first and then send it back. Is there any rule about this? I mean, is the company supposed to sign it first, or does it not really matter?

It doesn't really matter. I receive contracts from companies whose services I engage both ways - some come signed awaiting my signature, and some come unsigned for me to sign and return, at which point they sign and return a fully executed copy.

Just be sure that the understanding is you will receive a copy of the contract signed by both parties when the deal is done.
