Question: What crime would the following be considered (misdemeanor/felony) and what would the penalties have been for each of the individuals involved?

Situation: Years ago employees at a California retail store were having their friends give them their atm card and falsely refunding money into their accounts. The staff member would fraudulently enter into the computer that a customer had returned their purchase. The money was to later be split. The total amount in money stolen was between 250 and 350 dollars. Also, take into account that this was a real event that happened almost a decade ago.

Thanks for your rseponse's.
