I turned in my resignation to my company (verbally to the HR Manager) and then via e-mail to the HR Manager and my former supervisor. A few minutes later, I received a call from both stating that the company denied my resignation based on "cause." Was this an illegal move by this company or are they within their rights to do this??? Please help! Thanks!!!

Are you saying they would not let you resign and instead fired you? Generally speaking, there's nothing illegal about that, which is all we can determine since you posted no details of what they told you.
