What is the name of your state? illinois
if an employee knows they are about to be fired, can they have the meeting recorded legally? this isn't me, just wanting to know can the employer say No they can't record it?

Ask your employer if it is okay to record it.

I don't know what good a recording would do, but have at it.

Of course the employer can refuse an employee's request to record the meeting.

Which is exactly what I told him when he posted this on the discrimination board. Guess he hoped someone else would give him a different answer.
