my payroll check is a week late via the post office. i called to ask my employer to stop payment and cut me another check and they said that i would have to pay $30 dollars for the stop payment fee. is this legal and correct? i never received the check from the mail so i don't see how it is my fault and don't understand why i should pay...please help.....ps...in the state of south carolina

You may have better luck getting your question replied to if you post this on one of the other employment boards, as this is for Injured workers..
