Very URGENT Passport Question

I was wondering, on what terms would a person be deined a passport???
I once stole 1000 from a place I worked at and ran. I turned myself in 5 years later, went to court and the judge only ordered me to pay it back, no jail time no probabtion, and once i did this, the charges would be dropped. I did pay it off, and indeed like the judge said, the charges were dropped. Will this prevent me from getting my passport? I don't believe I have any other warrants. I've been pulled over and had cops run my name in the system which came back clear, so am I all good??

If you are a convicted felon, you can get a passport; it is entirely up to the discretion of the Passport Agency whether to give you one.

Run a background check on yourself to see if you have a record.

I know this sounds really stupid, but I don't KNOW if I'm a convicted felon. They never did anything when I went to court. I've never been in jail, never been on probabation....They said as long as i paid it off in full the charges would be dropped, and that was the last I heard of it.
