Hello,
I live in TN and had a quick question.
I run a fantasy website/forum and recently learned that one of the members is currently underage but is emancipated. I have banned the user because I do not know if it is legal to let her view the website because it does contain pornographic images in some instances. I now have this user asking me to unban her and I was wondering if it is legal to allow her to view the website because she is 17 and emancipated.

I am sorry if this is the wrong forum for this post. I could not find a forum that seemed more appropriate.

Emancipation is one thing, she may be independent (if it's true) but she is still underage! She cannot drink just because she is emancipated, she cannot buy cigs, etc.

You did the right thing.

Tell her it's a private business and you have the right to ban her, regardless of her age or intelligence.

What BB meant to say was that he would need to view sample photos* from your website before he could determine whether an emancipated youth could do so as well. I believe you can PM him the link(s). Good day.

She has not proven it to me, I figured that I would ask her to once I determined if it was or was not legal for me to allow her to see the site.

As far as the type of pornography, I won't go into details but it is an adult forum with multiple xxx rated postings of pictures.

The only reason that I would like to allow her back in is because the forum is not only a pornographic website, it is also a tightly weaved community and she is a fairly large contributer/poster.

When she turns 18, you can allow her back in.
