i got caught shoplifting an eyeliner abt $2 at walmart yesterday. i know what i did was very very very wrong. and very very very dumb. the security took me to the back office, they called the police i think to ask them to run a record on me,( and the security guy said sth like 'she's eligible?' to the police, but i don't know what they were talking abt) but no police officer came at all. ( i have no criminal history)it was just 2 security guy and a woman from walmart there. they asked all of my informations, including my SSN, and took 2 pics of me, and had me sign 2 papers. one is saying that i can't not go to walmart anymore, and the other is commiting that i did shoplift. ( i think that's what signed, i was so scared and embarrased at that moment) And he said that i m going to receive a mail after 30 days to pay a fine between $50-$500. and if i don't pay on time, the fine would go up. then he let me go.
so pay the fine is the only thing that's gonna happen to me? is walmart goin to press charge on me? is the police involved in this case? After i paid the fine, will i be okay? is this just gonna be between me and walmart? it won't be showing on my record?
