A friend told me a way to beat a parking ticket. He would claim to the judge that he lent out his car, to a friend, and therefore wasn't responsible for the cars' illegal behavior. Why pay more than you have too.

Try use that excuse and you will be the laughing stock of the traffic courtroom. Why? Well first of all the motor vehicle is an inanimate object and therefore can not behave and act under it's own control in an illegal manner. Unless of course the vehicle is Herbie or those talking cars on the Chevron Techron commercial. Secondly, a parking ticket is left on the vehicle for the accused driver but legally issued to the registered owner of record. The Traffic Court does not care who was driving because the registered owner is the one on the hook if the actual driver does not pay the fine. Lastly, it's a sin to tell a lie.
