Can a judge in Alabama not honor a protective order issued in New Mexico? The protective order was issued to me by a judge in New Mexico because my ex boyfriend beat me up and kidnapped my 3 month old son.

My response:

A TRO is only good in the jurisdiction where it was issued; and, in your case, New Mexico. If you need an Alabama order of protection, you need to file in that State.
