What is the name of your state? Louisiana

I'm a new volunteer officer of a non-profit organization. I have just been informed that one of the volunteers who teaches public classes for the organization is a convicted child-molester. This conviction has been verified via a State records search.

What responsibilities does the organization have to prevent this person from preying on students in his classes? Does the organization have a responsibility to notify students of the teacher's status and past conviction?

The person in question is a dues-paying member of the organization who is otherwise in good staqnding. Can the dues be refunded and the person dismissed from teaching duties without violating his civil rights?

The organization currently has no bylaws that prevent such a situation. Can such bylaws be developed and enforced?

All feedback appreciated.
