My wife had an option to sell her house to her ex for the price of the first mortgage if he took it by 6/99. He did not qualify for a mortgage, then he rented the property for 1 year then stopped paying rent. We had him evicted, then he sued us for the house saying that he had the "right to buy it" - he lost. He used the same lawyer for the eviction and the lawsuit. When we tried to attach his pay to recover the eviction costs we were told we could not because they were appealing the case. The first appeal was turned down, now they are filing a second appeal. He lost his job and moved in with his mother after the eviction, we also know he is not paying his lawyer for all of these cases. The questions I have are:

1. How many appeals can they file?
2. Can he continue to file just to drive up our legal bill and prevent us from recovering the money from him?
3. Can we sue his lawyer for continuing this ridiculous case for free?
