What is the name of your state? Ohio

I need some basic info.

My 58 year old father has had many heart and arterial problems. He has been on LTD for 3 years and after a recent evaluation was told the benefits would be stopped and one week later they were. (Good news for his health bad news for the finances) After returning to his employer he found there was no longer a job for him. I think I understand that they do not have to offer/keep anything for him correct?

My question is, is he just out in the cold to fend for himself and to find the best job he can regardless of pay? (It may be difficult to replace the salary he was getting)

Is there nothing he can do as far as unemployment?

Thanks for your help.

You are correct. If he has been on LTD for three years, any responsibility his employer had to return him to work has LONG since expired.

I see no reason why he should not be eligible for unemployment while he looks for other work.
