My husband had a felony conviction for assault when he was 19. It was later reduced to a misdemeanor and dismissed. He would like to become a police officer. The recruiter for the department said he needs to get clearance through doj to do this. Is it possible for him to get clearance? Also does he legally have to claim a felony conviction with it being reduced and dismissed?
