Just a quick question...

Last tax season...I owed the state of Michigan $87.

For some reason I kept forgetting about it...and just never paid it.

I filed my taxes the other day, and I am getting a refund from both federal and state.

Question is: Will they take the money I owe them before issuing me the rest of my check...or will they just send me all of my money, and I'll have to pay what I owe the state on my own?

I was just curious. If they don't take it out of the check - I will make sure to pay it anyways so I don't keep stacking up penalties.

Thanks!
- Kari :)
