To not get into much detail, my ex is court ordered to pay alimony for life. He has not been paying (only a very small part) and we have gone to court 3 times. I am from a small town where all the lawyers & the judge are friends and it is definitely a good ole boy network. The judge has not done anything because my ex is in bad health and it is almost like they are waiting for him to die. In the meantime it has been a year and I am going to lose my home if something is not done. My ex remarried and put all assets in new wife's name.
I feel I need to go to someone above the lawyers & judge. What is the next
step? I wondered if I contact the State Attorney's office or someone above
these people who are doing nothing. This is not fair. I was married 26 years
and we had a business. Now I am getting a very bad deal for HIS infidelity.

All I want is my money. Make him sell his home etc. Please help:

Can the ex pay anything even if he were found in contempt?

If so, go to court asking for him to be held in contempt for not paying.

When he doesn't pay (if had the ability to pay) then ask the judge to throw him in jail.

If you feel the judge or lawyer is doing something unethical, file complaints with the folks who regulate them in whatever state you are in.

I am in the State of Alabama. My ex can afford to pay but is claiming he can
not. Ex has sold our business and is getting quite a bit of income a month
from rental of property that business is on BUT as I said, he has put all assets
in new wife's name to clearly avoid paying. Shouldn't this be looked at as
joint assets anyway?
Who would be over the judge and lawyers of this State? Bar Association or
State Attorney? I am at a lost.

Yes, as I stated my lawyer does not seem to be helping me out at all and now
I have too much invested in him to change. To be quite honest I can not
afford to change lawyers at this point. Although my lawyer is not getting any
money until I get some. This is a very small town and all the lawyers and judges know each other well and seem to have a good ole boy network going.
Don't you think a year is long enough to wait for any relief? In the meantime,
I lose everything. Just upset in the way my case is being handled and feel I have been put off.
