hi...i have a promissory note signed by my ex-housemate and myself stating she would pay me the $880.00 owed from previously paid rent... the due date has since come and passed and i am now deciding to send a letter of demand before taking her to small claims court...my problem is this...i have moved to NC since and i realise that id have to go to the county the note was signed in but when and if it goes to court can i also add in the cost of my travel and/or the fee to actually have filed the suit? thank you for any suggestions good or bad...im not familiar with the court process...cydnee...What is the name of your state?
