What is the name of your state? MO

I have a lot about 600 feet along. I built a street within the boundaries of this lot and deeded this street to the city. Now I own land on both sides of the street.

The city paved the street, and charged me for the paving.

My question: What controls the legal physical location of the street. The exact legal descripton as contained in the deed I gave the city, or the actual physical location of the street as now being used by the public, for over 10 years. The question has come up as to where my boundry positions belong to me on both sides of the street, since the street physical location may be a few feet, or few inches different than as recorded on the deed given to the city?

A survey is in process.
