A few days ago, I borrowed my roommate my car. In the evening I found out that he was cought with possesion of over 28 grams of cocaine, equally to U$500.000.

He is now out on bail, but what I want to know is if I will have any kind of responsibility (because he had my car or because we live together), and how can I get my car back (the policemen have it)

This occurred in the city of Miami, Florida.

Thank you for your advise.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Well, unfortunately, when you loan a car to a friend, and they get caught, this is what happens. The police have the right to keep the vehicle to make reasonable inspections and get the evidence they need.
