What is the name of your state? mississippi
I had some landscaping done in my yard. We had a verbal contract and nothing written. When the work was done a week later the landscaper doubled the price we origionally agreed on and we have no written contract. I paid 70% of what he was asking which is already 20% more than what we origionally agreed on. Now he wants all the rest of the money. Am I obligated to pay this amount. If not what can i do in this situation?

This was the first and largest mistake.

You do not have to pay him and he has the right to place a mechanics lien on the house so you have to pay him before you can sell the home.

Was the discrepancy in price explaoned?
