What is the name of your state? nc
i have an 100 year old home (not up to code) i am trying to renovate on the NC coast, it was bought as is- when i applied for a building permit to replace the roof, the estimate couldn't exceed 70 percent of the tax value of the home (we never got it appraised before purchase). After the roof is finished can i get it appraised and use that appraisal value when applying for future permits as i continue the renovation? i just want to put this house back together, and bring it up to code without legal infringements
