What is the name of your state? ILLINOIS
Is there a deadline that one must comply with when putting in a formal complaint for harassment?

However, what that statute of limitations is will depend upon what kind of harassment it is, and you didn't tell us that.

You have 300 days from the date of the alleged discriminatory act to file with EEOC, if you live or work in a deferral state. Illinois is a deferral state. However, you only have 180 days if you file with the state human rights agency.
