What is the law in the state of Iowa pertaining to ; "The dispersment of alcohol without a license".

To wit, five people including myself were sitting in a closed bar playing a game of cards...Sheepshead to be exact. No money was on the table. It was 3 in the afternoon and the bar was closed, and awaiting the insurance company to fax a copy of the Dram Shop Insurance to the county clerk so that it could open. All of the doors were locked. An employee unlocked the door from outside and entered and was followed in (uninvited) by a police officer. This officer then arrested on of our group for dispersment of alcohol even though none had been sold. (Three of us playing cards did have beers the other two had Pepsi)...
What is our next course of action. Was this legal?
