What is the name of your state? KS

Hi,
Both parties have debts in their names but there are no common debts.

If we legally separate, would either party be responsible for the other parties debts,
in any way.

We have been married for 7 years.

It depends on what the judge would consider to be "equitable".

Your state government website would be a good place to begin your search. However, if there are significant assets or debts, it would really be best to use an attorney.

Start with an investigation of divorce lawyers in your area.

Interview them just like you would a potential contractor you would hire to do specific work for you.

If you hear comments such as "it's a womens world" or "how much are you willing to pay her", move on until you find a lawyer who is willing to represent YOU.

It's best if you can find out who the judge is going to be and hire a lawyer that the judge likes and hope her lawyer is on the judges sh!t list.
