Just before my husband and I were married 30 years ago, his parents purchased a duplex which they said they intended to give to us as a wedding gift. Until recently, I had always assumed it was co-owned by the four of us. My husband now tells me I was never put on the deed -- only him and his parents. And, given his parents had an attorney put all their assets into a living trust, he says it's an inheritance which does not give me any legal right to partial ownership as his wife. Is this true? Is there any way I can find out if any changes have been made in ownership since 1975? Thank you.
