My employer (maint services contractor) is requiring that employees take a personal/vacation day to cover lost work hours while the military base is shut down for the holidays. I think there is a DOL ruling about this but I cannot find it. Can someone direct me to the proper ruling? Some pertinent details: Union contract specifies that workers will be paid for short term government directed shutdowns. State base is located at is Mississippi. Job is a government contract.
Thanks in advance.
