i was referring to the purchase of a used vehicle. after buying the vehicle from a dealer, we realized that they had not lived up to the requirements we had asked before the purchase. in fact, they lied about one service being done. what are our options, if any?

Question 2, are any of the requirements or the missing service part of your purchase contract? If the answer is yes, see a local attorney. If the answer is no, Google the phrase "caveat emptor". It appears you have a case of buyer's remorse which is generally not a reason to invalidate a purchase.
