We signed a prime building contract with a licensed general contractor to build a new home for us. The contract stated that the contractor would only utilize properly licensed subcontractors.

During the construction of the home the contractor hired and paid unlicensed subcontractors to work on the project. He also stated in writing to me that they were licensed.

I requested thier license numbers and checked them out to find some of the subcontractors did not hold a current valid license

Can I get my money back for the payments made to the unlicensed subcontractors?
